about-image

The Trans-disciplinary Futures Research for Africa is a collaborative endeavor between the African academia, local/indigenous communities, and decision-makers in Africa to collectively address emerging and future glocal challenges.

Leveraging grassroot agency and existing academic research networks within Africa, the program seeks to open up the African spaces of research by allowing diverse ways of knowing and doing to thrive.

We do not just bring African academic researchers, communities, and decision-makers together to ensure future trans-disciplinary inquiries but also ensure such collaborations contribute to the Africa Agenda 2063 and the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The over-arching vision of the program is to model the various future capacity requirements in the following areas:

Knowledge transition

Data

Research funding flows

Evidence communication

Our Core Areas

The program is flexibly built on five core areas of concern which were chosen due to their significance in creating Africa’s sustainable and just futures:

Our Presence

Extending our impact across Africa

In our quest to strengthen research collaboration between African universities and local communities, Transdisciplinary Futures Research for Africa operates across multiple countries in Africa.

Our work extends to Kenya, Namibia, South Africa, and Ghana, where we actively engage with universities, research institutions, and local communities to co-develop solutions for emerging and future glocal complex challenges.

Through our extensive work in Kenya, Namibia, South Africa, Ghana, and beyond, the program is dedicated to advancing transdisciplinary research, fostering collaboration, and co-creating solutions that address the unique challenges faced by African communities.

Together, we strive to build a sustainable and prosperous future for Africa and contribute to global knowledge and impact.
